PlayDate With Purpose exists to provide a safe, fun way for kids to develop community with one another AND to introduce them to a greater PURPOSE!

It is our hope that through a connection of play and purpose we will see friendships blossom and our community strengthened as a result.

We believe that every person is created with a purpose and that even as children, they can make a difference in the lives of others.

We want to help equip kids to

Each playdate has a Purpose Filled Focus sandwiched between a couple of layers of play.

What is a Purpose Filled Focus?

We have used the modern idea of Soft Skills to describe our idea. Google dictionary describes soft skills as "personal attributes that enable someone to interact effectively and harmoniously with other people."

This term is used mainly in the business world by employers. It's becoming clear today, that many skills can't be taught with on the job training. Things like creativity, communication, team work and work ethic are desirable character traits that are becoming more difficult to fine in people.

So where do these things start? At home, in the classroom and on the PLAYGROUND.

2015 - Tie Dye for Haiti. Ten children gathered for a Playdate with Purpose in Pennsylvania. Fifty shirts were made and later delivered by a local church to a girls orphanage in Haiti.

PlayDate With Purpose aims to help children develop their Soft Skills from the foundational level - through the lens of the "Golden Rule: Do unto other's as you would have them do to you."

Purpose Filled Focus

Each Purpose Filled Focus will be taught from a Biblical Worldview and paired with a unique opportunity to put what has been learned into practice.

Q: Will you be teaching Bible Stories to the children?

A: Although we are unapologetically Christian, it is our desire that all children feel free to attend no matter what religion they may be. That being said, Purpose Filled Focus Skills are taught from a Judeo-Christian worldview and will usually be based on a Bible verse.

Q: Will you be asking children to memorize Bible verses?

A: Children are NOT asked to memorize the verse, but are sent home with a handout that may include the verse. This allows for parents to be clear on exactly what was taught.

Q: Is your goal to evangelize the children?

A: While we believe it is our job to share the Gospel with all the world, the goal of PlayDate With Purpose is to develop unity in community while helping children to see that they have purpose! We are open to talking with children and families about the love of God and gift of Jesus, but that is not the mission of the PlayDates.

Q: How will children practice these skills they are learning about?

A: Each playdate will include a practical application of the Purpose Filled Focus. That could include a craft, activity, or service project.
